We're all about real play

There are no ON or OFF switches, batteries or complicated instructions –

our toys are simply powered  by a child’s imagination.

About Straight ZigZag

Straight Zigzag is a service for childhood development, surrounded by the core value of PLAY.  Real play. Play in the way that the environment cues the child’s imagination to create new ideas, themes, stories, movements and to develop new skills.  While moving with the times and acknowledging the changing world we urge parents to foster traditional play experiences for their children by making use of:

  • Masterful toys produced locally and abroad
  • Endorsed play spaces
  • Scientific knowledge about development
  • Toy sharing opportunities, and
  • Supporting non-profit organisations that foster a play experience in poorer communities

We believe in giving back!

Straight Zigzag acknowledges the need to give back to the communities we live in.  Some of the poorer children in our society go to school hungry, and when basic needs are not being met, play falls off the bus. This means that many critical brain development opportunities are missed. On this page we  highlight charities and NPO’s that are doing great work promoting play experiences amongst all children.  Click on the links below for more information.
